Electronic Crime Scene Investigation: An At-The-Scene Reference for First Responders
This National Institute of Justice publication is a quick reference for first responders who may be responsible for identifying, preserving, collecting and securing evidence at an electronic crime scene. It describes different types of electronic devices and the potential evidence they may hold, and provides an overview of how to secure, evaluate and document the scene. It includes an overview of how to collect, package, and transport digital evidence and lists of potential sources of digital evidence for 14 crime categories. (NCJ 227050)

Public Defender Offices, 2007 - Statistical Tables
The Bureau of Justice Statistics has released statistical tables that examine offices that provide representation for indigent defendants through a salaried staff of full-time or part-time attorneys who are employed as direct government employees or through a public, nonprofit organization. Register for Critical Incident Preparedness Conference
The 11th annual Technologies for Critical Incident Preparedness Conference and Exposition will be held February 2-4, 2010, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The conference will highlight technologies and training tools currently available and those that are being developed for the emergency responder community. It will also provide a forum for emergency responders to discuss best practices and exchange information. 

Fact Sheets Provide an Overview of OJJDP Initiatives
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has released the In Focus series of fact sheets, which highlight major agency programs and initiatives. The series provides information on OJJDP resources, including funding, training, technical assistance, and research activities on topics such as disproportionate minority contact, the Community Prevention Grants Program, and the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws Program.

November is National American Indian Heritage Month
During National American Indian Heritage Month, NCJRS invites you to view the Justice in Indian Country Special Feature. This Special Feature contains publications and links to resources related to tribal justice systems, law enforcement, courts, corrections, and juvenile justice. Additionally, resources concerning victims in Indian Country are also provided.

Solicitation for Broadcast/DVD Production Announced
The National Institute of Corrections has released a solicitation to fund production of four satellite/Internet broadcasts and three DVDs. Three of the proposed satellite programs are nationwide satellite/Internet broadcasts (3 hours each) and the fourth will be an 8-hour live broadcast for trainers and facilitators on “How to Use the Developed DVD.” Application must be received by December 1, 2009.

Developers Sought for Workforce Performance Training
Application deadline: November 30, 2009
The National Institute of Correction's Prisons Division has released a solicitation for a cooperative agreement: A “Systems Approach” for Workforce Performance - Curriculum Development. The applicant selected will develop and field test a 36-hour curriculum to train multidisciplinary staff in state correctional and prison systems. The curriculum will focus on agency management and operations as a systemic and collaborative effort of all stakeholders in the system.
